Who We Are
BARNES & ASSOCIATES
ARBORICULTURAL
& LANDSCAPE CONSULTANCY
We offer a comprehensive range of tree surveying and assessments ranging from simple health surveys of small domestic sites, risk assessment of a single tree through to town and borough wide risk assessments comprising tens of thousands of trees.
We provide information for the planning system which can range from a simple house extension involving a handful of trees to thousands of trees on commercial housing or large infrastructure projects.
Running through out this work is a thorough understanding of the Laws and Legislation associated with trees and the planning system. In addition to the biological and the forces endured by trees within our landscapes.
Tree Surveys at Barnes Associates
Barnes Associates ltd provides a wide range of general tree and landscape management advice though we specialise in several key areas:
● Individual tree surveys and risk assessments.
●Tree survey and management for development sites.
● Advanced assessment of suspected defects.
● Managing trees implicated with damage to structures.
● Tree & Landscape Management, Care and Design.
Because we are a small practice, we can be flexible in our approach and fit in with you and your requirements, and we try to avoid a one size fits all approach.
Clients may simply want an informal chat about a possible site management changes or the implication to the site if certain works are undertaken.
Alternatively, clients may need detailed and robust reports and detailed scaled plans to form the basis of a planning application, insurance or valuation claim or simply to better understand their property, their risks and liabilities.
We Are Here To Help
Whether, you are about to purchase a new home, or want
advice on how to improve and maintain your current site, we can help guide you through the maze, of green legislation.
We are here to help design new landscapes, choose appropriate additional trees that will not become a problem in the future, or manage the safety of your current landscape.
Choosing the Right Plant in the Right Place and careful management of existing vegetation can avoid wasted time and resources by preventing avoidable failures or designing out potential damage to structures.
The core of the business is tree surveying, and we have decades of experience in Visual Tree Assessment (VTA). This means we can quickly understand and identify tree problems, often from an initial site visit.
Our surveyors are experienced and qualified in a range of risk assessment methodologies, so we are well placed to help deal with species characteristics, hazard identification, site constraints and risk reduction management.
Whether you have concerns about an unhealthy tree, a structural issue or fruiting body or just need help applying for planning permission to undertake works, we are here to help.
